And the system failed her. Greyson’s life was taken in a murder-suicide hours BEFORE a judge denied her urgent request for protection.

Tragic cases like this aren’t rare -- they’re a warning. And yet, even though Florida law defines family abduction as a form of domestic violence, parental kidnapping, custodial interference, and abuse (§ 741.28, § 787.01(1)(b), § 787.03, § 39.01), law enforcement often treats it like a paperwork issue. That’s why we’re fighting for real change.

Calling police for help and being told “it’s a civil matter.”

Watching helplessly as the other parent violates custody orders.

Getting falsely accused and investigated—just for trying to protect or discipline their children.

Spending thousands of dollars in court, only to receive no urgency and no enforcement.

This is not a “mom vs. dad” issue. This is a generational trauma issue. It’s about accountability, not gender. Emotional abuse, false allegations, weaponized custody -- it’s all child safety.
