The Fly
I have had trouble sleeping of late. With our drunk neighbors and being keyed up with The Birth of a New World.

I went horizontal about 2:00 am. Laying there thinking about everything and nothing in particular. The lights are out. It is pitched dark in my room.

A fly flew right into my ear.
Why and how are not the questions; I am contemplating at that particular moment.

I am thinking about what should I do next. If I stick my finger into my ear I may crush the little fly body in my ear.

If I crush the little bug body in my ear and if I don’t kill him completely ❗️

Oh, the thought of him struggling in my ear. Buzz Buzz. I can not only hear him, but I can feel him struggling with all his might.

I can hear and feel the little fellow buzzing in my ear. Oh, what to do? ❓

Okay, I can’t crush him in my ear! He won’t be able to get out. I won’t be able to get his little bug body out my head.

So I set up in bed! Put my feet over the side of the bed and began to swat the side of my head and my left ear; for all my life and limb will allow me.

Hoping he would fall out before I bruised my ear and the side of my head.

I began to ask God to help me. Help me! I kept asking God out loud. “Help ME!”

And then I didn’t feel or hear his little bug body crying out in my ear anymore.

Laying back down. Waiting for any moment I would have to sit back up to repeat the flagellating process all over again.

Pretty soon I heard this voice in my head. “Help Me! Help me! Help ME!

It wasn’t the fly reproving me it was God.

God was mocking me for my begging to be helped when I was not even in danger.

All I could think of then, were the words. Help me! Help ME❗️in a high pitched voice.
