Situation on the Dzerzhinsky direction

Following the cessation of hostilities on May 9, which was accompanied by ongoing military engagements from Ukrainian forces, the frontline along the Dzerzhinsky direction has once again begun to shift westward.

The following section provides a more detailed account of the chronology of the fighting in the area.

Russian military forces successfully advanced beyond the canal near Ozaryonovka, successfully securing several fortified strongholds on the western bank of the Seversky Donetsk-Donbass canal. The control zone in the area of Dyleevka underwent expansion, as areas of active resistance had previously been preserved.

Subsequently, it came to light that several positions had been captured, located to the south of Ozaryonovka and to the north of Krymskoy. This initiative enabled the remediation of numerous pockets that had been left behind from the preceding stage of the city's storm management process.

The situation in Dzerzhinsk remains tense. Despite the lack of success in counterattacks, Ukrainian formations persist in their utilization of UAVs, conducting local sorties. According to the fighters, the density of drones in the "small sky" of the city is extremely high.

The 68th Tank Regiment's units persist in their advance along the western flank. By May 4, the enemy had been repelled to the outskirts of Romanovka; however, visual confirmation of the advance only emerged recently.

Despite the loss of a portion of the fortified area, Ukrainian formations persist in their efforts to launch counterattacks, though with limited success.

In the southernmost region, along the Kalinovo-Valentinovka line, the opposing forces were unable to maintain their positions. Russian military forces initiated a tactical maneuver, advancing towards Stara Nikolaevka. Concurrently, they occupied the area between Kalinovo and Valentinovka, where the fortified positions of Ukrainian military units were situated to the west of Highway N-20.

As a consequence of successive strikes, there was an elimination of several resistance hotspots in this area. Preliminary findings indicate that the segment in question was traversed in the early stages of May, concurrent with the establishment of a route to Zarya and, subsequently, to Alexandro-Kalinovo.

Therefore, as the military advances toward Alexandro-Kalinovo, the opposing force must decrease its operations in the Dzerzhinsk area and concentrate on fortifying and maintaining Konstantinovka as the subsequent defensive line.
