Kasm Workspaces is a free and open source tool that allows us to spin up ephemeral containers on your own hardware, or in a virtual machine.
Access on local network only, or use Cloudflare or Wireguard to punch it out to the internet, to securely access your Kasm instance from anywhere in the world through a browser tab.
Recommended to buy a domain to use this with, if doing the remote access installation. Cloudflare or Wireguard provides a bombproof secure way to use your Kasm server from anywhere.
You can host this on a Raspberry Pi (slow) or any standard desktop or laptop computer you have laying around, recommend 8GB or more of RAM, 16GB is preferred.
Kasm allows you to spin up a virtual/ephemeral instance of just about any browser your want, entire Linux desktops, and a growing number of other applications! Endless use cases for Kasm, and it's free to use.
