EXCERPT:
"Welcome to the Shuv Show. I’m your host, Christene Jackman.
Just a quick reminder for those who may be new to the podcast: Shuv, S.H.U.V., is a Biblical Hebrew word which means to turn, to return. This show is dedicated to encouraging people to shuv, to return to God and His Ways, through faith in the work and kingship of Messiah Yeshua, empowered by the Ruach HaKodesh, literally translated: the Spirit of Holiness. The Holy Spirit.

Tonight’s topic is a fresh insight into something Messiah Yeshua said to the Samaritan Woman in John 4. The question is: How do you worship in Spirit?
You might want to pause this and go read the account first.

Welcome back.
Sometimes, while reading the Bible, we can rattle off the words, skipping past them without allowing understanding sink in. The concept of the sentence or passage remains undiscovered. We enter the text, and then exit unaffected.

But the Word of God is like seeds that need to be planted in the soil of our spirit; our ground made fertile and nurtured by the work of the Ruach HaKodesh. It is not enough to just hear the Word; we are to be Doers of The Word of God. And we cannot “Do,” unless we understand how the Lord wants us to do it. And that righteous “Do” can only be empowered by the Holy Spirit.

James 1:22
“But prove yourselves Doers of the Word, and not merely Hearers who delude themselves.”

Romans 2:13
“For it is not the Hearers of The Law who are righteous (dik’-ah-yos, innocent) before God, but the Doers of the Law will be declared righteous (innocent).”

Meaning: Those who obey the commandments do not incur the curses the Law demands for disobedience. Do not read into that “salvation by works” because Scripture tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Paul is simply stating how the Law works. It is the person driving 80 miles an hour in a 35 that will be found guilty of breaking the Law, not the person driving 35.

What does it mean to “Worship God in Spirit and in Truth?”

It was this account and this statement: “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in Truth,” that changed my life back around 2006. Rather than settling for a mere read it, blow past it, type of thing, I remember asking the Lord, “What does that really mean, to ‘worship in Spirit and in Truth.’ How do I walk that out?” At the time, I thought I could maybe grasp the “in Spirit” part, but what about the “in Truth” part? He started me there . . . "
