Skogsfolk - Ulver is a personal journey into a shadowed world a place where the silence of snowy wastelands speaks louder than words, and every gust of wind carries something ancient. It's a sonic vision of northern landscapes: desolate, cold, and timeless.

Across six tracks, I sought to capture the unease, the stillness, and the stark beauty that I associate with deep winter with what hides among the trees and fog. From the first echoes of "Vargens Sang" to the final breath of "Frostens Ånde," the album travels through a realm of wolves, spirits, and shadows wandering frozen paths.

I wasn't searching for elaborate melodies or orchestral forms. Instead, I focused on rawness, simplicity, and minimalism elements that better reflect the inner landscape of this music. These sounds don't emerge from genre conventions but from a need to evoke atmosphere. I was reaching for those fleeting childhood moments when a winter walk through the forest became something more a passage into another world, where time slows down and the crunch of snow whispers ancient stories.
