Since 2021, prices for essential items like eggs, milk, and meat have skyrocketed—tripling in some areas—placing a heavy burden on working-class families. Many are struggling just to put food on the table. I shared my hope with Benson: that one day, eggs might return to just 99 cents a dozen so that children can enjoy a hearty breakfast before school.

Benson emphasized how vital agriculture and food policy are to national well-being. He’s committed to doing his part, especially in support of food programs championed by President Trump. It’s a mission that reflects the broader spirit of Washington, D.C.—not just a center of political power, but a vibrant hub of history, policy, economics, military, education, and community. It’s a city where people work every day to make America stronger, more prosperous, and more resilient.
