The Bitter Sin of Railing
Text: 1Tim. 6

objective: realize the importance of our speech be aligned to the purity of God's word
to avoid being a bitter railer.

intro:
define RAIL
to utter bitter complaint or vehement denunciation (often followed by at or against) (e.g. to rail against fate)
to revile or scold in harsh, insolent, or abusive language
biblical examples of railing - Nabal, Sennacherib king of Assyria, one of the malefactors

Why should we avoid being a railer
1. Because it affects the Christians - vv. 1-2
2. It is NOT wholesome - v. 3
3. It is an effect of being a Proud person - v.4
4. It comes from envy - v.4
5. It urges strife/fighting - v. 4
6. It is really a result wrong/bad drawing of conclusion - "evil surmising" - v.4

Message/conclusion:
Railing is a bitter sin that has taken hold of even pastors of our time.
Realize the negative effect to the railer and to those that hear him and avoid it.
