Ralph's Secret Weapon (written by Steven Kellogg)

The story follows a boy named Ralph who is persuaded by his Aunt Georgiana to charm a dangerous sea serpent by playing the bassoon. Ralph spends the summer with his aunt, learning to play the instrument and eventually using a secret weapon to save the day when the sea serpent eats his bassoon.
