New images from the James Webb Space Telescope reveal that Jupiter’s auroras are hundreds of times brighter than Earth’s, powered by solar storms and particles from its volcanic moon Io.

The study, conducted on December 25, 2023, was published in Nature Communications, NBC News has reported.
