Tesla Driver Appears to Sleep on Autopilot

Info from Licensor: "Just after finishing a work trip in May of 2019, my colleagues Sam, Daren, and I were headed north on Interstate 35 East, just south of Dallas, TX, when we saw a Tesla in the middle lane. It was going the speed limit but not keeping up with the flow of traffic, so we decided to pass the vehicle in the fast lane. As we did, we observed that the driver and passenger of the Tesla were both slumped over, sound asleep—like, really asleep.

We were shocked, so we slowed down and took a video to have proof in case people didn’t believe us later. After that, we called the police in two different counties to report the vehicle and try to get someone to pull it over or at least wake up the individuals inside.

We followed the Tesla for over 20 minutes, making sure nothing bad happened and out of sheer curiosity. As the vehicle approached Dallas, the interstate we were on was under construction. We witnessed the Tesla disengage from autopilot, nearly hit the center barrier, and come to a complete stop on the center shoulder of the interstate.

At that point, both individuals woke up and got out of the vehicle. They appeared to be safe and awake, so we continued on our way."
