OLD FOLK WISDOM
[Verse 1]
I keep tellin’ Bill to get a hearin’ aid,
We’re all hoarse from shoutin’ just to get him to engage.
But I shouldn’t talk — my ears are shot too,
'Cause the wife’s been hollerin’ since ‘92.
[Chorus]
We all sit around on Mike’s front porch,
Guzzlin’ beers, sprayin’ flies with a can of Hot Shot.
Talkin’ ‘bout the kids who won’t go to school,
Sayin’ AI’s all they need, thinkin’ that's cool.
[Verse 2]
They got the answers, yeah, sure, right on cue,
But it don’t mean much if you don’t think it through.
Back in our day, we learned by the book,
Now they just Google it, smile, and give ya that look.
[Chorus]
We all sit around on Mike’s front porch,
Guzzlin’ beers, sprayin’ flies with a can of Hot Shot.
Sayin’ “Schoolin’ ain’t for youngins no more,”
They got AI, but we ain’t keepin’ score.
[Bridge]
They might type fast, but they can’t change a tire,
Can’t fix a leak or start a fire.
Got all the answers on a little screen,
But common sense? That’s a thing unseen.
[Final Chorus]
So we sit around on Mike’s ol' porch swing,
Laughin’ ‘bout the noise and the newfangled things.
Just old folks thinkin’ out loud in the sun,
Sayin’ smarts don’t come from a machine, son.
