Episode 1 of Montenegro/Albania overland trip.

Part one of my very short trip to Albanian's Alps (Accursed Mountains) that I did in 2020.
This was the most unprepared trip I've ever went to in my car, so far. Had a general plan before but that one had to be modified to fit a 10 days in total on the road. Not much having in mind you drive in a Defender with an average speed around 100km/h on the highway 😉 So I just sent some points and routes to my Garmin Overlander and off I went.
First route was planned to start very close to Bosnia's border, so naturally navi was directing me to Montenegro via Bosnia. On the Bosnian border I was told to go back as I didn't have valid Covid test - not older than 48 hours. Yep - didn't check that particular country before, so totally my fault. That made my transit a little bit longer as had to do the detour via Serbia. So before we have reached Montenegro, our first night was spent on the parking lot near M6 highway when I passed Budapest, after making almost 1000kms (982,2 - to be precise). I had picked a point on the Explore map close to the lake I thought would be a good spot but it turned out to be somebody's property when we have arrived, so no night was possible there.
Second night we have spent in Serbia. Again - point on the map set - at the side of the Gruzinsko Jeziero - first approach almost ended up with the necessity of using a winch to climb back as the route to the lake was very wet and cloggy. But fortunately Sandy did great job climbing back to the road. As we drove 623kms, mostly on the regular roads, we have reached that lake after dark of course that made finding proper spot harder than during the day. But luckily found a place at the lake's shore, on the other side. Had a visit of some little doggy, verminous friends that tried to make Kira their mum, but decided not to take them with us 😉
Another day was just 296,1km long. Reached Prokletije National Park in Montenegro following roads R7, R2 and R9 (R9 is described as Panoramic Road 1 of Montenegro). As usual was trying to find camp spot at the river side to have possibility to take a shower, but of course by looking at the map only it is hard to say if the spot I chose was at the river level in reality. That was a matter in my case - first spot was few houndrets meters above. Had to turn back and find another one - not easy when there are steep walls and narrow road to follow. But noticed a place which seemed to be a good one for a night and stayed there till next noon.
Shower felt great. Kira was happy as after 3 days of driving we were finally had some time to rest. Night was perfect with the river giving nice chill, sky full of stars, Milky Way was just above us and no one around. I have focused more on video shooting this time than photo, so played with my camera a bit in the morning while Kira was chilling out in the sun until the quick storm made us to hide under the awning for half and hour. Sun came out quickly though with full power and after taking our camp down we have moved along around noon following R9 to Albania's border.
