Elon Musk: Let’s Review Foreign Aid — Is It Actually Helping?

Elon Musk: We should thoroughly check whether taxpayer money we give to other countries is really doing any good.

“I think it's worth looking at US policies and checking which of these policies are actually helping other countries. We send a lot of money to various countries, but does it do any good? I don't know.

I think we should just do a thorough review of whether our actions actually help these countries, and why are we sending them our money again?

We're sending people's tax money to other countries, does it actually make sense? Is it doing good? Can it be defended to the American public or not? If it can't, then we should probably stop sending money or send less.

I think we should generally try not to interfere with other countries activities. We tend to get in other countries business a bit too much, I think. I'm more of a fan of the Monroe Doctrine. Let other countries do their thing, and we'll just be cool here.”
