Jesus Lets Himself Be Scapegoated to Deliver Us All from Sin and Death – Mark 14:1–52

In this brief excerpt from the course, Jesus and Myth, Dr. Barber discusses how Jesus deliberately allows Himself to be Scapegoated by the religio-political leaders and everyone around Him, in order to literally fulfill His Word – Old Testament prophecy – thus delivering us all from sin and death forever.

As Jesus prepares to observe the Passover in Jerusalem in AD 33, it is clear that He is literally the Lamb of God who is about to take away the sins of the world.

As He does these things, Jesus uniquely subverts and inverts the pattern of myth-culture in which all of the rest of us walk. We walk in the way of sinners, Jesus alone in the way of divine perfection.
