Exodus 35

1. The Sabbath Reminder (Exodus 35:1–3)
Moses gathers the people and begins by reaffirming the Sabbath command.

No work is to be done on the seventh day; even kindling fire is forbidden.

Key lesson: Worship and service must begin with obedience and rest in God. The Sabbath reflects trust in Him and prioritizes spiritual over physical work.

2. Call for Offerings (Exodus 35:4–9)
Moses invites everyone with a willing heart to bring offerings: gold, silver, bronze, fine linens, animal skins, spices, and precious stones.

These materials are for building the Tabernacle and crafting its sacred objects.

Key lesson: God values cheerful, voluntary giving. He doesn’t force contributions but moves people to give freely.

3. Skilled Workers Called (Exodus 35:10–19)
All who are gifted and willing are invited to help build the Tabernacle and prepare the priestly garments.

Specific instructions are restated for the items to be crafted: Ark, table, lampstand, altar, curtains, etc.

Key lesson: God uses a variety of gifts and talents—not just spiritual or visible ones—for His purposes. Every role in God’s work matters.

4. The People Respond Generously (Exodus 35:20–29)
Men and women alike freely give from what they have.

Women spin cloth and yarn; leaders bring precious stones and spices.

The whole community participates, motivated by willingness and joy.

Key lesson: True worship involves generous hearts and active participation in God’s work. Giving is an act of devotion.

5. Bezalel and Oholiab Empowered (Exodus 35:30–35)
Bezalel (tribe of Judah) and Oholiab (tribe of Dan) are chosen and filled with the Spirit of God, granting them wisdom, skill, and the ability to teach others.

They will lead the work on the Tabernacle and train others.

Key lesson: Leadership in God’s work is Spirit-empowered and includes equipping others. God calls and equips those He chooses.
