Episode 790: Which Jews SIN that causes the Tribulation revealed in Matthew 24 Part 3

Hello everyone. In today's Bible study we continue our in depth study of Matthew 24.

In our previous study we revealed that there are differences in the questions asked of the Lord Jesus recorded in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke hence the reason that the Lord gave a varied response. There are no contradictions as the Lord is simply answering what was asked of Him.

We also commenced our verse by verse study of Matthew 24 beginning at verse 3 where the disciples asked three different questions however they are recorded by Matthew out of order.

Hence when the Lord answers the disciples He arrange the answer in the proper order.
1. When will these things be? Meaning the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple of God. This question is answered in Mark and Luke.

2. What will be the sign of Your coming? Meaning a singular sign on the exact day of His return to the earth to establish the Kingdom of Israel. This was also asked by the disciples prior to the Lord being taken up into heaven after the resurrection and being with them for 40 days.

He told them, that is none of your business, go do what I commanded you, preach the gospel.

3. What will be the end of the Age? Meaning the Age of Law. The Age of Law? You mean the Age of Grace? No, I mean the Age of Law. Friends, please understand that Israel, the prophets, nor the disciples had any knowledge regarding the Age of Grace. It was a mystery, revealed by God only to Paul.

1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— 2 if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, 7 of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.

If you read further, Paul gives what that looks like.

In verses 4 & 5 we learned several things:
Matthew 24:4-5 (NKJV)
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.Therefore we conclude verses 4-5 means:
1. Deception - 2 Thes. 2:3, 9-10
2. Restraint removed causing evil to abound
i. Tim. 3:1-5
ii. Tim. 3 12-13

A. Israel will sign a peace agreement with the Beast
B. Israel will place themselves back under the Law of Moses
C. Israel will rebuild the Temple of God on the Temple Mount
D. Israel will commence sacrificing animals again

Now we come to verses 6 thru 9. In this segment beginning with verse 6 we will discover several things.
Matthew 24:6 (NKJV)
6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Wow, there is so much information given to us in each of these verses therefore we will take our time in an attempt to give a full proper understanding of this 24th chapter.

Today we will visit several books of the Old Testament including Daniel, Joshua, 2 Chronicles. These three hold the keys to a proper context, along with others on a smaller scale, of what the Lord Jesus is explaining to His disciples over in Matthew 24.
