None Shall Make You Afraid
Leviticus 26:1-6 (KJV)
"And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid..."
Fear often thrives when life feels out of control, when the future seems uncertain, when provision seems lacking, or when threats loom near. Yet God’s covenant with Israel, beautifully expressed in Leviticus 26, reminds us of His unshakable promise: obedience brings divine security.
God calls His people to a life of holiness and worship, no idols, no false images, just reverence for the Lord and keeping His sabbaths and statutes. In return, He promises what every human heart longs for: provision, abundance, and most powerfully, peace.
The phrase "none shall make you afraid" (v.6) is not merely a wish, but a divine guarantee for those who walk in covenant with Him. This peace extends beyond the absence of war or violence. It is the deep, settled assurance that God Himself is your protector. You can rest at night without fear of evil; you can walk through life without the dread of disaster.
Today, under the New Covenant, this promise is even richer. Jesus, the Prince of Peace, has given us peace that the world cannot take away (John 14:27). As we live in faith and obedience, we are enveloped in His divine protection and provision. Whatever the threats, spiritual, emotional, physical, you can lie down in peace, unafraid.
Further Confession of Faith
I will not fear. The Lord gives me peace in the land and in my heart. I walk in His statutes, and He blesses my life with safety and abundance. I trust that no evil shall befall me, nor any threat cause me to tremble. I rest under His covering, and none shall make me afraid. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Reflection Questions
1. Are there any “idols” (things you trust more than God) that you need to lay down today?
2. How does obedience to God’s Word lead to inner peace in your life?
3. What specific fears can you surrender to the Lord right now?
Lyrics
[Verse]
If you walk in my way,
And keep the light in you,
Peace will fill your heart,
Fear will fade from view.
[Chorus]
In His grace, we will find,
A love that’s pure and kind.
[Verse]
If you walk in my steps, embrace the truth I give,
With a heart filled with hope, that's how you truly live.
[Chorus]
In His love, we'll be free,
A refuge from all harm.
