Also known as the lesser panda, red bear-cat, or (our favorite) the “tiny forest ninja,” this ridiculously cute mammal lives high in the eastern Himalayas and southwest China.

But despite their cuteness, red pandas are in serious trouble. Their natural habitat is being chopped down faster than you can say “aww!” 🌳💔 Deforestation and farming are pushing them out of their leafy homes.

🔥 Fun (and kinda hilarious) Fact: Red pandas use their giant fluffy tails as winter blankets. Basically, they burrito themselves to stay warm — 10/10 survival strategy.
