The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Part Twelve
Geralt's growing bond with sorceress Keira Metz took a dark turn. What began as a shared struggle through elven ruins quickly spiraled into deception, manipulation, and tragedy. Keira had enlisted Geralt to lift a deadly curse from Fyke Isle, where a host of rats devoured Lord Vserad, his court, and the mage Alexander in a night of horror. Armed with a magical lamp and Keira’s charm-laced promise of reward, Geralt uncovered the tragic fate of Anabelle the lord’s daughter turned plague maiden whose final kiss doomed her beloved Graham and lifted the curse in sorrow.
But Keira’s motives were far from pure. After sending Geralt to recover a “missing” shipment (which turned out to be nothing more than luxury goods), she lured him into a moonlit dinner and seduced him only to knock him out with a spell and attempt to steal Alexander’s notes on the Catriona plague. Her intentions were dangerous, and when confronted, she refused to back down. Left with no other choice, Geralt struck her down... closing the chapter on a stormy, seductive, and sorrow-filled encounter.
Meanwhile, Geralt pursued leads from Hendrik’s notes and tracked Ciri’s path deeper into Velen. What he found wasn’t a lone witch, but something much worse: the Crones of Crookback Bog. These ancient, monstrous beings sought to hand Ciri over to Imlerith, a general of the Wild Hunt. Though Ciri narrowly escaped, her clash with the Crones and the Hunt was just the beginning.
As Geralt followed her fading trail through war-torn swamps and haunted memories, the question remained: how far would he go to find the girl he once called his daughter?
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the groundbreaking installment in CD PROJEKT RED’s acclaimed series following the legendary witcher, Geralt of Rivia. After multiple delays, the game was officially released on May 19, 2015, and made an immediate impact. Selling over 4 million copies in just two weeks, more than doubling the total sales of its predecessor, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Unlike the previous entries, The Witcher 3 takes place in a sprawling multi-region open world, offering over 100 hours of content across dynamic landscapes. Inspired by the scale of games like Skyrim but over 20% larger the developers aimed to refine the open-world experience by learning from industry benchmarks while addressing their shortcomings.
Powered by the cutting-edge REDengine 3, the game was built with extensive fan feedback in mind. As always, player choices carry weight, shaping the narrative in significant and sometimes unexpected ways. This is not just a sequel. It’s a full evolution of the Witcher saga.
