Bulwark And MSNBC's Tim Miller: America Has Become 'An Oppressive Hell For Non-Citizens': Part 2

Posted • May 9, 2025: When Donald Trump campaigned on mass deportations of the millions of illegal immigrants ushered (and sometimes literally flown) into the United States, I and tens of millions of Americans said, "I'm voting for that." I was sick of seeing mobs of illegals overwhelm the National Guard in Texas, and of President Joe Biden apologizing on MSNBC for referring to Laken Riley's killer as an illegal. Biden said he wasn't going to disrespect these people — even the murderers — because they've been "model citizens." Aaron Reichlin-Melnick found a "WOW" moment when he learned the Trump administration would deport you for a speeding ticket if only they had the capacity. —— Aaron Reichlin-Melnick @ReichlinMelnick: “WOW. The Trump administration implied in court that it's their position that if they could deport every noncitizen ticketed for speeding (even if the ticket is later dismissed!) they would do it, and the only thin stopping them right now is "capacity."”

Steven Brown @AttyStevenBrown: “The Court on Tuesday found this an interesting position as well” https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Gp93K1mWYAAQm8q?format=png&name=900x900 —— That's almost a correct paraphrase. The court said, "Well, can you and I both agree that if we deported every single individual in the country who has been tagged for speeding, there would be very few people left and almost all of them would not have driver's licenses?" The response: "I don't know that we have the capacity at this president time to do that, Your Honor." So the lawyer didn't say the Trump administration would deport every illegal alien ticketed for speeding … but he should have. I'm amazed how you don't need to be smart or honest to be a judge. "If we deported every single individual in the country who has been tagged for speeding, there would be very few people left." Yeah, but we don't deport citizens, so there'd be a whole lot of people left who've never been stopped for speeding.

Jon @jon93495054: “Yes, every illegal immigrant must go back. What did you think the “mass deportation” signs we were waving meant?” —— Latinx Adjacent Doctor PhD @TonerousHyus: “They absolutely can and should deport them all. I hope that capacity problem is resolved in the coming months.” —— Cash Loren @CashLorenShow: “That's what deporting every last illegal immigrant means. Yes we will deport every last one.” —— Ida @HeidiSnow381: “Being here illegally is sufficient cause for deportation. No speeding ticket required.” —— Exactly. We've even settled on the term "criminal illegal alien" to separate the ones who are just here criminally from those who raped and murdered while here criminally. Tim Miller of The Bulwark and MSNBC shared the sob story of a 19-year-old in ICE custody:

Tim Miller @Timodc: “A 19 year old who was brought to America at age 4 got pulled over for not using a turn signal. She was shackled and is now in ICE custody for a month. Our country has become an oppressive hell for non-citizens. Deplorable.” https://pbs.twimg.com/card_img/1920166769450172416/ZtEqr3en?format=jpg&name=900x900 —— If our country is an oppressive hell for illegal immigrants, maybe they should self-deport. —— Chris @chriswithans: “She wasn't arrested for not using her turn signal, captain cornholio. Why does the media always lie, even when the linked article shows the truth? She was pulled over for ignoring a "no turn on red" sign. You know, the signs that you all love to put everywhere for no reason. This is your doing, because you are traffic fascists. And now she is going to be deported.” https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GqYltmhbMAE0i5c?format=png&name=medium —— If I were living in the U.S. illegally, I would drive very, very carefully.

Chris @chriswithans: “also surprise surprise no driver's license either.” —— Chad Felix Greene 🇮🇱 @chadfelixg: “Tim, of course, isn't telling you the whole story. She was arrested for driving without a license (as everyone would be). Her immigration status was determined at the jail. She will be going with her family to Mexico City. This is Due Process.” https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GqbUR5VWQAAfC0C?format=png&name=large —— But look at her graduation photo … the same one they always pull out for cop killers and such, although they usually use ones from sixth grade or so. —— Dr. Niles Crane’s Current Affairs Liaison @tonofkeys: “I guess her parents shouldn’t have brought her here.” —— The Lectern Guy🇺🇸 @lecternleader: “She also owes us 15 years' worth of any public assistance she or her family recieved.” —— Cadessbor @Cadessbor: “Yeah… They’re not citizens.”

Amygator 🐊 *not an actual alligator @AmyA1A: “America sounds like a lousy place to be an illegal. You can’t even break the traffic laws, drive without insurance or a license, or lie to the authorities! Madness! I’d get out if I were them.” —— John Hawkins @johnhawkinsrwn: “Here illegally? The rest of the details don't matter. Deport. The sooner, the better.” —— Law of Self Defense @LawSelfDefense: “Is she unlawfully in the US? Then she must go home.” —— Grateful Calvin @shoveitjack: “Man, that seems bad. They should probably find another country to live in.” —— The problem is that our country hasn't become "an oppressive hell" for illegals. I'm already afraid President Trump is going soft. Get Tom Homan back out there, or Stephen Miller. If your parents brought you here illegally, that's on them.
