The biggest threats in this mission are the amount of holes dotting the walking paths and the large swathes of water pitfalls with no guards or walls to stop you from falling off and drowning. The enemies themselves are regular fare. There are a few surprises, like the namahage that spawns from the yokai fog on the path from the closest shrine to umi-bozu, but its not all that difficult.

Umi-bozu itself is nothing special, more annoying to slay than actually serving as a challenge. Its most devastating attack, the water laser, has a long wind-up and can be easily evaded so long as you pay attention and don't get too overzealous with your aggression. Umi-bozu's tentacle slaps have a decent range, cannot be guarded, and can hit you if you are close, but are again easily evaded. For an onmyoji, umi-bozu is another cakewalk boss, and while it cannot be inflicted with confusion, it doesn't matter as its fire resistance is so terrible as to take tons of damage from any source of fire. An onmyoji with fire shots and/or fire amulets will do alright, but this is one of the few times the explosive shot talisman comes in handy with how much damage it can deal for the fight.

Earlier difficulties of Nioh don't usually provide much flexibility in terms of builds for William, so I'll be venturing into the later difficulties of Nioh in order to exemplify some of the potential viability for playing through the game with a focus on onmyo magic and investing in the Magic stat.
