This raises the question: wouldn't it be considered fraudulent for cancer charities to accept donations under the assumption that they are searching for a cure, when it's actually a criminal act for them to publicize such cures? It's still in effect today, and medical practitioners have been prosecuted for attempting to cure cancer. In the United States, some have even been jailed for doing so.
