The Eucharist supported by interpreting My Flesh vs the flesh - Gospel of John

Catholics believe that Jesus meant what He said in John 6 when He said that we must eat His Flesh and drink His Blood in order to have eternal life and to be raised on the last day.

Those who oppose Catholic teaching on the Eucharist and believe Jesus was speaking symbolically point to John 6:63 where Jesus states that the flesh counts for nothing thinking it nullifies the clear commands of Jesus in verses 53-56.

But, Catholics agree with Jesus that THE flesh, which is man’s fallen nature does count for nothing. There is nothing man can do to save ourselves. This is in contrast with Jesus commanding that we eat HIS Flesh and drink HIS Blood as the Bread of Life. His Flesh being different from the flesh. Don’t be fooled by the false teaching of those who don’t follow the commandments of Jesus!!
