If you’ve discovered slaves in your family tree—whether as ancestors or people connected to your ancestors—you can help preserve their names and stories. The WikiTree US Black Heritage Project is a volunteer effort to document genealogy records related to African Americans, including over 10,000 individuals who were enslaved.

In this video, I’ll show you how to get involved, contribute to over 50,000 growing profiles, and support WikiTree’s mission to document 150,000 people of color. Whether you’re honoring your own family or contributing to a more complete historical record, this project gives you tools to make a real difference.
