The Genius Serial Killer Who Was Protected by the FBI & CIA | Phillip Arthur Thompson #DannyCasolaro

Phillip Arthur Thompson was a serial killer operating in Southern California in the 1970s and early 80s. Convicted of 1 murder but suspected in at least 8 others, Thompson learned the art of killing as a soldier in the CIA’s Phoenix Program. Implicated in both the Danny Casolaro Octopus case, and Iran-Contra-era cocaine-for-arms schemes in Central America, Thompson’s intelligence connections lasted well into his criminal career as a drug trafficker, gun runner, hitman for hire, and serial killer. Thompson kept showing up as a suspect in murder, robbery, and organized crime investigations all over southern California, but police and DA’s trying to put Thompson away found their cases were always being sabotaged from above. Eventually they figured out why: Thompson was working for the FBI. And the evidence suggests that he had long-standing CIA connections, as well. Why would the FBI and CIA allow a serial killer to commit crimes with impunity all over Southern California for over a decade?
