Commandos Origins | The WW2 Stealth Masterpiece Returns

My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review.

In this episode I return once more to one of my favourite Stealth Strategy Series ever made Commandos: Origins, developed by Claymore Game Studios and published by Kalypso Entertainment, who spearheaded the Excellent Remaster of the Original Commandos Trilogy on Steam and Console.

Commandos: Origins is the newest entry in the legendary Commandos Series, which was a pioneer in stealth strategy games, and the standard by which i measure stealth games in general. The game returns players to the battlefields of World War 2, with the original commandos cast. Youll be striking deep into enemy lines across several theatres of war, from hidden bases in the artic, to vast strongholds in the sands of Africa. In order to succeed in your mission you will need to master each of the crews unique abilities, combining their skills to decieve and avoid your enemies, or silently eliminate targets using trickery, traps and a sharp blade.

This entry in the series keeps everything players loved about the previous games, such as the stealth system, challenging difficulty and unique units each with their own personalities and skills. It also improves upon several areas from the original games, improving camera control, implementing sharper controls and adding better enemy AI for a more immersive experience. The missions are designed to give player freedom to complete their goals, with new weapons, items and traps, along with the ability to use the environment itself to create deadly "accidents" or traps to tip the balance of war in your favour.

Best of all, Kalypso has allowed players to enjoy the game in its original format, giving players the choice on keep the period accurate signage and setting, and striking a blow against censorship. In my humble opinion this is by far the best entry in the Commandos Series so far, offering a fantastic introduction for new players to the Commandos Series as well as brilliant sequel to these beloved games for the existing fans. I consider it a must buy for Commandos Fans.
