Reptile is a secret character in the original Mortal Kombat (1992), introduced as a hidden enemy. A loyal warrior of Outworld, he is a Saurian—a reptilian humanoid from a nearly extinct race. Initially disguised as a masked ninja (similar to Scorpion and Sub-Zero), his true green-scaled form is revealed when defeated.

Reptile serves Shang Tsung and Shao Khan, often as a spy or assassin. His abilities include invisibility, acid spit, and a powerful tongue attack. Over time, his backstory expands, revealing his tragic quest to restore his species.
A fan-favorite, Reptile has appeared in multiple Mortal Kombat games, evolving from a palette-swap ninja into a fully unique, monstrous fighter.
