The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Part Eleven
Geralt’s search for Ciri continued across the harsh lands of Velen, guided by the final notes of Nilfgaardian agent Hendrik. Those notes pointed toward a quarrel between Ciri and a mysterious witch near Midcopse. After questioning the reluctant villagers, Geralt found her Keira Metz, a sorceress in self-imposed exile.
Though Keira hadn’t encountered Ciri herself, she had hosted a masked elven mage who, like Geralt, was searching for the young woman. Together, Geralt and Keira set out to track this enigmatic figure through an ancient underground ruin unaware that the Wild Hunt had already beaten them there.
Inside the mage’s forgotten hideout, Geralt discovered spectral messages left behind morphotic projections meant for Ciri. Through these visions, he learned the mage called her Zireael, or “Swallow” in Elder Speech, and had left signs to guide her path. But Geralt found neither Ciri nor the mage only more clues... and a Wild Hunt warrior waiting in ambush.
The warrior was no match for the witcher and sorceress. Still, the real revelation came when Geralt uncovered the truth: Ciri’s quarrel hadn’t been with a mere witch, but with the terrifying Crones of Crookback Bog. What happened to her in that swamp remains unknown… for now.
Before parting ways, Geralt helped Keira find the magic lamp left behind by the elven mage. The dangerous trek deepened their bond, and Keira lonely in exile invited Geralt to visit her again soon.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the groundbreaking installment in CD PROJEKT RED’s acclaimed series following the legendary witcher, Geralt of Rivia. After multiple delays, the game was officially released on May 19, 2015, and made an immediate impact. Selling over 4 million copies in just two weeks, more than doubling the total sales of its predecessor, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Unlike the previous entries, The Witcher 3 takes place in a sprawling multi-region open world, offering over 100 hours of content across dynamic landscapes. Inspired by the scale of games like Skyrim but over 20% larger the developers aimed to refine the open-world experience by learning from industry benchmarks while addressing their shortcomings.
Powered by the cutting-edge REDengine 3, the game was built with extensive fan feedback in mind. As always, player choices carry weight, shaping the narrative in significant and sometimes unexpected ways. This is not just a sequel. It’s a full evolution of the Witcher saga.
