Sikas to the Pasture

It was time to get this sika cow and her calf back out onto the pasture!
Earlier in the year, I was out in the breeding pens tending to our exotic wild sheep flocks when the sika cow in this video walked up to me like she knew me. Obviously she had found a hole in the fence and escaped her pasture into the breeding facility. I was able to trick her into the lane and pushed her into a pen where I fed her until I was able to get a trailer to haul her back to the pasture where she belonged. Before I could get that done she had a calf! So the other day I finally had some time and had the trailer at the ranch so I was able to get the job done.
Most days in ranching I’ve got a to-do list a mile long. Any “extra” minute you can come across to knock out one task on that list makes for a good day!
