🇷🇺 🏹 🎣 Rybar’s Analysis: Toretsk Direction: Breaking into AFU Fortifications
⚡️Official English Translation⚡️
The following text constitutes the official English translation.
The Toretsk direction is characterized by a strategic advance into the fortifications of the AFU, situated in the southwestern periphery of the city.
The Toretsk direction has witnessed the emergence of a new "hotspot" on its southwestern flank, which had remained largely static for nearly a year, in conjunction with the ongoing hostilities in the Toretsk Agglomeration.
The battle for Kalynove and its subsequent liberation represented the initial phase of a more extensive Russian offensive in this sector. The intensified activity observed in this area is not a mere coincidence. The AFU has established a significant fortified area along the H-20 Highway, which effectively shields Kostiantynivka from potential southern attacks. This area also enables the Ukrainian forces to maintain artillery pressure on Russian assault formations in Toretsk itself.
The following is a detailed account of the armed conflict that has transpired along Toretsk's southwestern periphery.
In mid-April, Russian forces engaged in combat with Ukrainian troops along the Valentinivka–Sukha Balka line. Following a series of swift engagements, Valentinivka was successfully liberated on April 17.
The conflict subsequently transpired in the environs of Sukha Balka, a locality situated to the north of a monument erected in remembrance of the casualties of the 2006 Tu-154 incident (Flight Anapa–Saint Petersburg). By April 23rd, Russian flags had been raised on the northern outskirts of the village. Assault units are currently advancing toward Romanivka from the southeast.
Simultaneously, to the west, Russian troops achieved victory in Tarasivka following intense combat that began in March. This maneuver paves the way for the advancement of Oleksandropil and Zoria, thereby facilitating the formation of a left "pincer" that envelops the AFU garrison in Romanivka.
Securing the Oleksandropil–Romanivka line would stabilize the frontline, create a bridgehead for attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near the Kleban-Byk Reservoir, which is located south of Kostiantynivka, and protect the western flank of the Toretsk Agglomeration from Ukrainian counterattacks.
