The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) carried out an airstrike on Yemen's main airport in Sanaa on Tuesday, its second attack in two days on Iran-aligned Houthi rebels after a surge in tensions between the group and Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Houthis in Yemen were dealt multiple blows after attacking an airport in Israel. "I am saying it again today — we will settle the score with anyone who attacks the State of Israel," he said.

The Israeli military also carried out airstrikes against Hodeidah Port and its vicinity. In the aftermath of the airstrikes, the Houthis closed off the area surrounding the port and a cement factory.

Tensions have been high since the Gaza war began, but have risen further since a Houthi missile strike landed near Israel's Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday, prompting Israeli airstrikes on Yemen's Hodeidah port on Monday.
