Lead with Standards, Teach with Failure

When someone does a good job—I let them know. When they fall short—I correct them. That’s leadership. One thing I always tell my younger soldiers:
“The only difference between you and me is I’ve failed more times than days you’ve been in the Army.”
Real leadership isn’t about being perfect. It’s about owning your mistakes, learning from them, and showing others how to grow through them.
