PAUL PIERCE SPEAKS OUT! NBA Hall of Famer Paul Pierce made a series a provocative statements during a recent no holds barred interview. Among other things, the all-star Celtic said in no uncertain terms that marriage was designed and meant for the poor and elderly, and that successful men in particular had little to gain from the enterprise. It should be said that Pierce just might know a bit of what he speaks - he is divorced and a father of three children, two daughters and a son. While some might consider his controversial remarks the grumblings of a bitter brother crying sour grapes, consider the following evidence from PubMed Central, on how marriage does NOT benefit Black men (read: Pierce) as much as been originally believed: "Race, gender, and their intersection alter health gains that follow SEP (Socioeconomic Poisition). One extreme example of the minorities’ diminished return is poor mental health of high SEP Black men and women. High education and high-income Black men are at higher risks of depressive symptoms and clinical depression. (SOURCE: "Being Married Increases Life Expectancy of White but Not Black Americans", PubMed Central, Sep 13, 2019) The research appears to support Pierce's hard won wisdom and experience - but is he right? We're gonna talk about it TONIGHT ONLY ON RUMBLE!
