Zombie Apocalypse
What does Resurrection mean?
Matthew 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
These verses explain a onetime event. This was the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the dead bodies rising from the graves were to emphasize and commemorate the resurrection and that Jesus had conquered death hell and the grave.
Context is very important. This was a onetime event. If you notice in all the other references to death dying and the grave, man is only given one time to die, there is no reincarnation or any need for the old flesh body any more. Corruption cannot put on incorruption and it is appointed to man once to die and after that the judgment.
The flesh is corruptible but the spirit is incorruptible why would you want to reunite them?
False teachers claim that at the rapture the spirit body and the old flesh body will join back together when the body comes out of the ground like a zombie and joins the spirit body in the air. This is their version of the zombie apocalypse. It is totally false and based on Matthew 27 which was a onetime event.
Here are all the verses that contradict the rejoining of the terrestrial and celestial bodies below.
Ecclesiastes 12:6 and 7 tell us that regular people like you and me are separated at death (Harpazo). When you die you are resurrected at that moment to your spiritual body, not at some later point of time. It happens in the moment of a twinkling of the eye as 1 Corinthians 15:52 explains. The corruptible body goes back to the dirt and will never be needed again, you are done with it.
The concept of rejoining the corruptible and incorruptible bodies back together at the second coming contradicts 1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Resurrected
(You must die at the 7th trump and be changed at this time)
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
The above verses are a clear contradiction of rejoining the spirit and flesh at the second coming.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (G # 2837) (Dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose (G #450) (Resurrected) again, even so them also which sleep (G # 2838) (Rest in Jesus) (Mansion) in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise (G # 450) first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Context is everything when understanding the resurrection. There are 3 basic meanings to the word itself. 1 -To raise from the dead, 2-to raise to a higher level of thinking- and 3-moral recovery of a spiritual truth.
There are only 3. The first explanation; Lazarus would be a good example, he was resurrected from being dead after being dead for 4 days to the point of stinking. This is a specific reference to his carnal body being resurrected back to life.
The other side of the first explanation; Jesus was resurrected or raised (rose again) but not His carnal body. He was resurrected to His spiritual body that looks exactly like His old flesh body but they are not one in the same. Keep in mind Jesus is God and he was taken flesh and all to heaven. He was also transfigured along with Moses and Elijah on the mount of transfiguration.
Second explanation; 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
In a sense the new man after being saved has been resurrected or raised to a higher level of existence or thinking. The spiritual man has been awakened.
Third explanation; When you backslide and then turn back to God you will have a moral recovery of your faith and the truth. You are resurrected through forgiveness back to good standing with God.
Paradise is a place of holding until the Millennium begins for both the quick and the dead. One of the Greek words used to describe it is Hupnos, it seems to be saying it is a place of holding or suspension in time where nothing is accomplished.
The quick and the dead are described in the Greek as: nekros, hoi nekroi, ek nekron and 'ek ton nekron. Alive Carnal, Dead Carnal, Alive Spirit and Dead Spirit. Four types of bodies.
Rise and Rose are the same Greek word

1 Corinthians 15:2 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Paul gets done with his resurrection sermon and describes the technical aspects of the physical body and the spiritual body.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: (You have to die first and then you enter your spirit body)
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. (Genetics 101)
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. (They are separate but together)
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: (The flesh is corruption the spirit incorruption. (They are not the same)
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. Very important point
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
