Christine Anderson · Today in Germany, the change of government takes place. But everything remains the same.
Germany's decline is being driven to excess with new trillions in debt & the previous political chaos is even being expanded.
At the same time, the government is trying ever harder to “immunize” itself against scrutiny and criticism from citizens.
.
In their coalition negotiations weeks ago, the SPD and CDU planned to abolish the highly effective German Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The #FOIA has brought numerous scandals to light over the past 20 years. Including that of Philipp Amthor, who interestingly acted as the CDU's chief negotiator on that issue.
.
This frontal attack on freedom of information caused quite a stir. Now the law is no longer to be #abolished, but “only” reformed. To create “added value for citizens & administration”.
.
⚠️ To “#reform” an already perfectly functioning law is politician jargon and does not mean added value, but rather “#dilution” or “#restriction”.
