Having Loud, Messy, and Crazy Kids is a Good Thing

Allow this season of life – the crazy, the messy, the utterly joyful parts – to just be.

As parents, the way we navigate it, the way we find the joy in the chaos, comes down to one thing: our own daily practice of emotional control and discipline.

We need to be in control of ourselves to give our kids (and our partners) the space to be free, to explore, to be loud, to be them. If we're unraveling, they can't truly thrive.

Lean into the beauty and the madness. This intense chapter flies by quicker than you think.

And let's be clear: This isn't about being permissive. You NEED discipline, rules, and boundaries.

The challenge is discerning when a boundary actually requires discipline versus when you're just having a meltdown because you've lost your own emotional footing.

Are you guiding their behavior, or are you suppressing their spirit for your own comfort?

Knowing that difference, and responding appropriately, only comes from having discipline and being in control of yourself first.
