It aint a bug , it's how the game was made to be. So that people would play the other 2 paths with different 'builds'
You could ofcourse use it to increase to boost your stats but it will not allow you to unlock the 100% attributes achievement.
This goes for +15 strength or +6 warhammer of the Titanlord hammer.

Note: Why do i chapterize the Ore Deposits?
To ensure people know where to find them + they are required to make Sword Blanks which is connected to a achievement [cheevo].
This doesn't go for the gold mines ofcourse , but might as well chapterize them too :)

Another Note: Every 10 apples gives +1 Strength!
But keep in mind that the limit is 5 Strength total!!
So in total you need 50 Apples to get the MAX strength out of the Apples
