Ragans Stymies White Sox | Royals Take Series Opener

The Royals welcomed the White Sox to Kauffman Stadium to open the homestand and welcomed Cole Ragans back to the mound after the staff ace missed a start due to a groin injury. In his first action since April 24, Ragans tossed 5.0 scoreless innings, striking out 11 along the way marking his fourth start of the season reaching double-digit strikeouts. Maikel Garcia continued his surge, reaching base three times and driving in a run to get the Royals on the board in the 4th inning. Bobby Witt Jr. drove in a run in a multi-hit effort, and Drew Waters added a late RBI single in the 8th inning to give the Royals a 3-0 lead. John Schreiber, Steven Cruz, Daniel Lunch IV, and Carlos Estévez would all log scoreless innings to hold the White Sox off, and give the Royals a series-opening shutout win.
