Finding Jesus: For His Sake Alone

The spiritual life begins with seeking Jesus, often for selfish reasons, but the goal is to love Him selflessly. Saint Stephen’s example illustrates how trials and difficulties, when faced with love and conformity to Christ, can lead to angelic peace and holiness. Ultimately, the purpose of our creation is to love God, and through the spiritual life, we can adjust our disposition to seek Him for His sake, not our own.
