As Sure as the Rising Sun

God's Word assures us that His mercies are new every morning as we read in Lamentations 3:22-23,

[22] The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. [23] Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

Because of God's unending compassion for us, we have something to receive every day of our life no matter our situation: new refreshment, new peace, new joy, new healing, new relief, new understanding, new knowledge, new encouragement, new strength, new life.

God's faithfulness, love and mercies are as sure as the sun rising each day. We would never doubt that the sun will rise in the morning so we can have that exact same faith in God's mercies arriving every morning.

When we awake in the morning, there might be clouds and storms, but the sun still rises. Nothing can stop its powerful light as it filters through the clouds to provide daylight in the storm just as God lights our path through every storm.

The assurance of a new day with new mercies gives us strength and hope. Our Heavenly Father is "the God of hope", as Apostle Paul teaches in Romans 15:13, and God is able to fill us with joy and peace as we trust in Him.

Let us place our trust in the God of hope and have our arms open each morning PREPARED to receive AND EXPECTING to receive something new because as sure as the sun never fails to rise every morning, God's mercies never fail to be new every morning.
