Donte Maurice Vanclief Killed After Shooting at Barton’s Landing in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – On Sunday, May 4, 2025, at approximately 10:22 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of Barton’s Landing Place, a gated condominium community off Cliffdale Road.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Emergency medical personnel were immediately dispatched, and the victim—later identified as 36-year-old Donte Maurice Vanclief of Fayetteville—was transported to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, Vanclief succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
