The Goal Post Episode 57 - The Parallel Scientists

We kick off this episode by comparing the similarities between the recent elections in Canada and Australia, and how the conservative leaning sides thought of themselves as shoo-ins but the results turned out very different towards the end.

Vernon talks about his past Friday playing a Magic draft and informs Rob about Magic's current level of power creep, and unlike most other sets this year he really enjoys the latest one (Tarkir: Dragonstorm)

Rob's Great Men of History are Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace, who independently established the theory of natural selection, as a matter of fact in contrary to the popular notion that Darwin theorized evolution itself (there were other forms of evolution theories prior to both of these men).

In a happy comparison about indepenedent scientists coming up with their own research and results on the same subject, Vernon talks about the discovery of Neptune and how Urbain Jean Leverrier and John Couch Adams did their own study and prediction of it, with an ensuing controversy as to who gets the credit really.
