2. The People Fear God's Presence (Exodus 20:18–21)

Thunder, lightning, smoke, and the sound of a trumpet terrify the people.

They ask Moses to speak on God’s behalf, fearing they will die if God speaks directly.

Don’t be afraid of God, but let this fear keep you from sinning.

3. Instructions About Worship (Exodus 20:22–26)
God Warns Against Idolatry:

No gods of silver or gold.

Altar Guidelines:

Make altars of earth or uncut stones.

Worship should be humble and simple, not showy or man-made.

Moral Boundaries Matter:
God establishes clear guidelines for living in right relationship with Him and others.

Fear of the Lord Is Healthy:
Proper reverence for God leads to obedience and moral restraint.
