Combs' former partner, singer Cassie Ventura—believed to be "Victim-1" in the indictment—is expected to testify publicly. Additional lawsuits by dozens of others have followed Ventura's initial legal action against Combs, further escalating the case.

Combs has rejected a plea deal from prosecutors, opting instead to face a federal trial. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
