1 Corinthians 12:12-31, diversity and unity in the Church. There are different members for different purposes- different meaningful purposes that all contribute back to the purpose of the Church. Last week's message revealed details about the purpose of the Church.
1 Corinthians 12:27-28, the value of all members. Unlike a country club, the value of members is not their financial status. Unlike a country club, members seek to serve others the same way Jesus served others.
1 Corinthians 12:12-31, the human body is used to illustrate that all parts are necessary. Missing parts cause suffering. Lack of active participation is almost like not being present in the body.
1 Corinthians 12:26, the health of one member affects the health of others
1 Corinthians 12:14-21, the body cannot be only all feet, or only eyes, or only ears, or only noses, or only hands. The body needs all the members together.
13:3, works with love versus works without love. Works with love glorify God (people will witness God's love in action), while works without love glorify self or secular beliefs (people will only see an individual's influence or an institution's influence).
