The purpose of this vow was being set apart for God above and beyond what the rest of the Israelites would do, and could inspire them all to live more holy lives. Men or women could take this vow. The Nazirite Vow is discussed in this chapter, including how it was successfully ended, and the process for ending that.

Was this a vow that you could purchase your way out of, like we talked about a few days ago? I'm not sure, but it would likely include the penalty for failure in addition to the buyout.

"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."
