The Mind in Motion: A Systems Model of Real-Time Cognitive Transitions
https://www.nds-unit.org/mind-in-motion

What causes a mind to shift — from instinct to reflection, from memory to action, from chaos to coherence?

This talk introduces a novel systems-level model of cognition developed through independent, cross-disciplinary inquiry — blending psychology, systems theory, computational modeling, and neuroscience into a unified framework.

The Neurodynamic Cognitive Systems Model (NCSM) proposes that all thought and behavior emerge from the interaction of five core cognitive systems, a predictive processing engine, and a mesoscopic transition layer that manages shifts in control, attention, and state.

Rather than viewing cognition as modular or linear, NCSM frames the mind as a self-regulating coherence system — one that adapts under pressure, switches modes when needed, and restructures itself in real time.

This layered architecture generates testable predictions and opens new directions for understanding cognition, clinical resilience, and adaptive intelligence.
