Bodycam: Suspect Calls 911 During Chase For Advice Before Officer Involved Shooting-Got Only 90 Days

Kuna, Ada County, Idaho --- According to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, just before 6:00 p.m. on August 1, 2024,
Meridian Police officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Eagle Rd. and E. Overland Rd. in Meridian for a fight in progress call.
The reporting party said a man, later identified as 24-year-old Jeremiah Bainbridge, was reaching into a vehicle and swinging at a person.
As Meridian Police officers arrived, Bainbridge fled the scene in his vehicle.
Officers located Bainbridge driving wesbound on west overland road.
A pursuit was initiated. Bainbridge drove south on Cloverdale road.
The pursuit continued southbound on south Cloverdale road and then westbound on Est Columbia road.
At 6:22 P.M., officers lost sight of Bainbridge's vehicle on Columbia road in the area of south Locust Grove road in Meridian.
Shortly after the pursuit was terminated, a caller reported to dispatch a SUV had run two stop signs and was driving 60MPH+ in the area of west Hubbard road and south Meridian road.
At 6:36 P.M., Kuna police deputies located Bainbridge's vehicle driving southbound on north Ten Mile road near west Ardell road in Kuna.
Deputies attempted to stop Bainbridge. He did not yield and continued driving south on Ten Mile road, east on west Deer Flat road, and south on Linder road.
Deputies reported Bainbridge was driving at excessive speeds and running stop signs through neighborhoods without regard for people in the area.
Bainbridge turned north on south Meridian road from est Avalon street and continued northbound for approximately 8 miles.
While deputies were in pursuit of Bainbridge's vehicle, he called 911.
Bainbridge was on the phone with dispatcher for about 14 minutes.
The dispatcher asked him to stop or pull over 23 times and to slow down a douzen times.
At the intersection of south Meridian and est Columbia road Ada county Sheriff's deputy Koller deployed spike strips to attemp to disable Bainbridge's vehicle.
Bainbridge, who drove at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour during the pursuit, swerved past the spike strips.
On the on-ramp to westbound I-84, Kuna police sergeant Geisel conducted a successful pit maneuver that sent Bainbridge's vehicle into a grassy area next to the interstate.
After the successful pit maneuver, Kuna police sergeant Geisel exited his vehicle and gave Bainbridge commands to get out of the car.
Additional Kuna police deputies, Ada county Sheriff's deputies, and an Idaho state police trooper arrived on the scene.
Deputies gave commands for Bainbridge to show his hands.
Bainbridge exited his vehicle while holding a handgun. Three Kuna police deputies discharged their service weapons.
⦁Sgt Mike Geisel Conducted pit maneuver and ultimately discharged 11 shots from his duty issued 9MM handgun.
⦁ Deputy Vincent Alatorre 4 shots fired from department issued 9MM handgun.
⦁ Deputy Sean Farwell 5 shots fired from his department issued AR-15 rifle.
Bainbridge was hit by multiple rounds, but still maintained possession of the handgun.
Deputies approached Bainbridge and secured his firearm. They then immediately began providing medical aid until paramedics arrived. Bainbridge was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
After several weeks, Bainbridge was released from the hospital and booked into the Ada County Jail. Bainbridge was charged with Domestic Battery, Fleeing & Eluding, Grand Theft and Robbery. He pled guilty to the Domestic Battery and Fleeing & Eluding as part of a plea deal. The Grand Theft and Robbery charges were dismissed. The judge sentenced Bainbridge to 90 days
in the Ada County Jail and required him to complete the Active Behavioral Change
program. After that he will be on probation until 2032.
Bainbridge's Glock 19 handgun was recovered.
The investigation confirmed that several rounds fired by deputies ricocheted off the ground and asphalt and landed inside Roaring Springs Water Park. One round struck a passing vehicle. No injuries were reported.
