God Commissions Moses and Aaron (vv. 1–7):
God tells Moses that He has made him like God to Pharaoh and Aaron will be his prophet. They are to speak all God commands, and though Pharaoh will resist, God will multiply signs and wonders in Egypt to show His power.

God Hardens Pharaoh’s Heart (v. 3–5):
God explains that He will harden Pharaoh’s heart so that He can bring judgment on Egypt and the Egyptians will know that He is the Lord.

Moses and Aaron Obey (vv. 6–7):
Moses (80 years old) and Aaron (83) obey God’s commands exactly as He instructs them.

Aaron’s Staff Becomes a Serpent (vv. 8–13):
As a sign, Aaron throws down his staff before Pharaoh and it becomes a serpent. Pharaoh’s magicians replicate the miracle with their secret arts, but Aaron’s staff swallows theirs. Still, Pharaoh’s heart is hardened.

The First Plague – Water Turned to Blood (vv. 14–24):
God sends Moses to Pharaoh at the Nile River. Aaron strikes the water with his staff, turning the Nile and all water sources in Egypt to blood. The fish die, the river stinks, and the Egyptians cannot drink. The magicians also replicate this plague, and Pharaoh remains unyielding.

Key Takeaways:
God is Sovereign Over Rulers: Pharaoh may be powerful, but God is in control and uses even Pharaoh’s resistance to fulfill His purposes.

Obedience in Faith is Powerful: Moses and Aaron act in faith despite their age, fear, and Pharaoh’s power.

Miracles Can Be Imitated, But God’s Power is Supreme: Egyptian magicians mimic some signs, but God's power always proves greater.

Judgment Has Purpose: The plagues are not random — they are meant to reveal God's identity to both Egypt and Israel.
